Manipur CM Assures Full Security for Kuki-Zo Individuals Visiting Imphal

Imphal, February 9, 2026: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Monday assured that the state government would ensure complete safety and security for members of the Kuki-Zo community visiting Imphal, the state capital predominantly inhabited by the Meitei community.

Addressing a public gathering during the flag-off ceremony of the NH-137A road development project in Imphal West district, the Chief Minister said the government would take full responsibility for the protection of Kuki-Zo individuals travelling to the city, particularly those seeking medical treatment and other essential services.

Singh emphasized that no untoward incident would be allowed to occur, reiterating the government’s firm commitment to maintaining law and order amid prevailing ethnic sensitivities in the state.
