Actor Vijay’s Wife Sangeetha Files for Divorce

Chennai, February 28, 2026: Sangeetha Sornalingam, wife of Tamil actor and politician Vijay, has filed for divorce at a family court in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, ending nearly 27 years of marriage.

According to court filings, Sangeetha has sought dissolution of the marriage under the Special Marriage Act. The couple, who married in 1999, have two children together and have largely kept their personal lives private despite Vijay’s high-profile career in the Tamil film industry and his recent political foray.

The petition reportedly cites irreconcilable differences. A hearing date has been scheduled, though neither Vijay nor Sangeetha has issued a detailed public statement regarding the proceedings.
