No Shortage of LPG in Manipur, Says CAF&PD Department

Imphal, March 13, 2026: The Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Manipur has clarified that there is no shortage of LPG or other petroleum products in the state, dismissing reports circulating on social media as misinformation.

In a press release issued on Friday from Sangaiprou, the department stated that certain social media users and propagandists have been spreading misleading claims regarding an alleged shortage of LPG and other petroleum products in Manipur, causing unnecessary concern among consumers and the general public.

According to the release, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Imphal has confirmed that sufficient stock of LPG and petroleum products is available in the state. It explained that the temporary disruption in LPG distribution observed in recent days was due to a technical issue in the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system at the all-India level, and not due to any shortage of supply.

The department further informed that the technical issue has now been resolved and clarified that it was not connected to the stock position of LPG in Manipur.

Reaffirming the availability of adequate stock, IOCL assured that LPG and other petroleum products remain sufficiently supplied across the state.

In view of the situation, the department has urged consumers not to panic or engage in unnecessary hoarding of LPG and petroleum products, warning that such actions could lead to accidents and safety hazards.

The press release was issued by Director (CAF&PD) K. Bono Singh.
